We all had a wonderful ‘arty’ day on Tuesday. The children were able to practise lots of skills, such as printing, watercolour painting, 3D clay or mod roc models, collage, oil pastel drawings and sketching.
Here are some of the super examples from Reception, Year 1 and Year 5:
Y1 printing and oil pastel drawings
Tickets are on sale this week!
20p a ticket – Vice Captains will come to the classes and sell tickets in the morning.
Parents, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles… We need your help. We are looking for a regular source of scrap wood and offcuts for use in the Early Years’ upcoming woodwork area. If you know anyone who would be able to donate unused wood or offcuts, our children will make great use of it.
Please look out for our ‘Bits Bin’ which will be making an appearance in reception. We would love your old lids, bottle tops, corks, buttons, fabric and old CDs!
Today, we have been busy learning about university life. The “Explore University” project is organised by Keele University, Staffordshire University, University of Wolverhampton and Harper Adams University and aims to help primary school children understand more about university. The children were challenged to recreate many aspects of a university using lego. Year 5 showed great resilience, teamwork and imagination throughout the morning. Well done!

On Monday, we kicked off Children’s Mental Health Week with a visit from local author, Sarah Griffiths. Sarah’s stories developed the children’s awareness of emotions and the strategy of reframing them, as well as developing their reading for pleasure and encouraging them to write in imaginative ways.
Good morning,
Please find the link for #SAF News for Monday 7th February 2022 below
Happy reading!
