Welcome to Year 1

Welcome to Year 1

Welcome to year 1. We are so glad to have your child in our class. We have many exciting projects planned for this year and are looking forward to the amazing learning journey we will undertake.

Our classrooms are all set to go and promote a love for the world around us. In year 1 your child can be a scientist, engineer, architect, inventor, author and storyteller just to name a few!

If you have any queries please come and chat to a member of our year 1 team. We are always here to help. The practitioners are Miss Thomas, Mrs Grindrod and Miss Broster.

Our online learning platform is Seesaw. Please use the QR code provided by us to log onto your child’s account. We look forward to seeing all the amazing learning you do at home.

Weekly Timetable

  • PE is on Monday and Thursday

Please ensure your child comes to school in their school uniform and bring their PE kit in a bag. This needs to be a school P.E top/ white polo shirt and black shorts/ jogging bottoms. We are not dressing and undressing this term.

  • Forest School on Friday.

Your child needs to bring suitable kit that is appropriate for the weather; wellies, waterproofs, coat.

Your child needs to bring their book bag to school every day so that we can read with your child regularly and provide them with many books. Please read regularly with your child and post this on Seesaw.

Your child will move up the Rainbow if they impress us with their talents and interests. Promote this at home and we will in school to create engaged learners.
