Reception challenges – Monday 20th April

Hello everyone!

We hope you’ve had a good Easter break and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

We will continue to put work on our Seesaw accounts daily, and love it when you send photos/videos of the work and activities the children have been doing – Thank you, it really is keeping us sane!

The work will also be posted on the website, to try and reach out to all of our parents in Reception, but please continue to use Seesaw to send messages/photos and videos.

We hope you are enjoying our daily stories (during term-time) – Mrs Casswell’s class have got ‘Six Dinner Sid’, ‘Duck in the Truck’ and ‘Where’s my Teddy’ to look forward to this week 🙂

Can’t wait to see you all soon, but please stay safe and take care.

Mrs Casswell & Mrs Geran.

You can do these with your child on the screen if that’s easier. The tricky word search could also be done with one of your books – just try to spot some of the listed tricky words. Children could also keep an eye out for I, the, to, no, go, into.

There are some examples on this sheet for activities, but you could use anything that’s convenient…e.g crisps/raisins/grapes at lunchtime, stones/pebbles outside etc.

This is a STEM challenge – and links to the worldwide ‘Rainbow’ theme, reminding us all to try to stay positive and have hope. It is also a way to express our thanks to the front line staff, who are all working so hard, in such uncertain times.

Well done parents!

Good Morning!

Week one nearly done 🙂

We just wanted to say ‘Well done’ to our parents who have been doing lovely activities with their children this week, and keeping in contact via the Seesaw account. You’re doing a FANTASTIC job!

If you’re having trouble connecting up, please drop us an email (It’s at the top of the home learning challenge sheet) and we’ll do our best to help you.

In Mrs Casswell’s class, story time today will be read by Mrs Hellowell (It will be posted later on Seesaw).

Take care everyone and enjoy the sunshine,

Mrs Casswell, Mrs Geran & Miss Dornan.

Story time with Mrs Casswell

Hi everybody,

Please have a look at your Seesaw account. I have uploaded a story time session  – basically myself reading Mick Inkpen’s ‘Blue Balloon’.

I intend to do this daily – although I may rope in Mrs Hellowell and Mrs Rodgers to send a video of them reading a story!

Enjoy 🙂

Seesaw

Good Morning!

A huge ‘Thank you’ to our parents who have connected up to Seesaw. The photos, videos and messages are keeping us all sane, as we are missing all of the children so much.

It’s fantastic to see the children drawing, making models, exercising, cooking, growing things, having a go at telling the time, reading, writing/drawing shopping lists, tying their shoelaces, making pretend shops, playing and learning with real money, doing scavenger hunts, bird watching… the list is endless, but the most important part is, your children are having fun with you. They are learning, being independent and developing resilience.

For those parents who haven’t connected to Seesaw, please do. (The QR code and access details were in your home learning packs – the first page in the wallet.) This is a safe online platform where we are sharing ideas for work/activities.

Thank you again and stay safe everyone,

Mrs Casswell, Mrs Geran & Miss Dornan.
