#HelloYellow Day

#HelloYellow Day

On Monday 11th October, we are inviting you to wear yellow or add something yellow to your uniform to participate in #HelloYellow Day. We want to help make your #HelloYellow day as big and bright as possible, so together we can show young people they’re not alone with their mental health. Donations of £1 would be appreciated and this will go towards the Young Minds charity.

Let’s be bright and bold and light up our school.

Can you help our school on Census Day?

Thursday 7th October

As a school, we have to provide information to the Department for Education (DfE), which dictates how much funding the school receives. As you know, the more funding we receive, the better provision we can provide for your children.

One of the key funding categories is how many children take up Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) on census day. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free meal (hot dinner) every day. Some parents choose not to take this offer and send their children with a packed lunch.

We always try to ensure that on census day, we have the most popular meal choices available. On Thursday, we have changed the menu to ‘children’s favourite food’ which has pizza, sausages, fish and curly fries as the main meals and doughnuts for pudding!

We would like your help! Please try to encourage your child to take up the UFSM offer but especially on Thursday this week.

Many thanks,

Mrs Tomlinson

Check out the menu for the first week back!

We are delighted that we are now the proud owners of our school kitchen and have control over the menus and the food we provide for our children. We have frozen the price at £2.35 so there will be no increase to the cost of school lunches.

If you would like a printed copy of the menu then please pop into the school office to collect one. It is also displayed in the foyer.

Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society

As a school, we will be walking in aid of ‘Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society’ on Friday 19th March.

We ask that each child donates £1 or more and participates in the Memory Walk at designated time slots throughout the day.

It really is a very worthy charity and one that affects all of us in different ways.

We haven’t managed to do many things together as a school community this year so it will be lovely to see and speak to all children outside, socially distanced, throughout the day.

Parents and carers at home can join in too by going for a walk around Sutton Hill and posting pictures on Seesaw.
