Our visit to Sutton Hill Church

Today we saw Reverend Dawn perform a baptism as part of our project on babies. We listened respectfully to what Christians, like Reverend Dawn, believe. The children asked some thought provoking questions like “How old might God be?” And “What is the church made of?” Reverend Dawn told us the church is made of a community of people in Sutton Hill.

Children in Need – Friday 19th November

Children In Need – Friday 19th November

We are asking that our whole school supports Children In Need on Friday 19th November. On this day, children are asked to come to school in their Pudsey outfits, something spotty or striped, or simply in their own clothes if they would prefer.

We will be asking all children to donate £1 to this very worthy cause.

#HelloYellow Day

#HelloYellow Day

On Monday 11th October, we are inviting you to wear yellow or add something yellow to your uniform to participate in #HelloYellow Day. We want to help make your #HelloYellow day as big and bright as possible, so together we can show young people they’re not alone with their mental health. Donations of £1 would be appreciated and this will go towards the Young Minds charity.

Let’s be bright and bold and light up our school.

Can you help our school on Census Day?

Thursday 7th October

As a school, we have to provide information to the Department for Education (DfE), which dictates how much funding the school receives. As you know, the more funding we receive, the better provision we can provide for your children.

One of the key funding categories is how many children take up Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) on census day. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free meal (hot dinner) every day. Some parents choose not to take this offer and send their children with a packed lunch.

We always try to ensure that on census day, we have the most popular meal choices available. On Thursday, we have changed the menu to ‘children’s favourite food’ which has pizza, sausages, fish and curly fries as the main meals and doughnuts for pudding!

We would like your help! Please try to encourage your child to take up the UFSM offer but especially on Thursday this week.

Many thanks,

Mrs Tomlinson

Home Reading

You will have received a letter this week explaining how to record and upload your child’s reading at home on Seesaw.

If you are having any difficulties with this please let your child’s class teacher know.

We are always here to help.

Nursery – existing children

Just a reminder that children who already attend our nursery are starting back on Tuesday 7th September. Nursery is closed for these children on Monday 6th September.

On Monday 6th September new children are coming for 1 hour stay and play sessions.
