A fun-filled last day of half-term in Year 5!

We had a fabulous day reading and following a recipe to create snot-tails (which were actually delicious)! We also listened to a mysterious story called The Hook!

The children also enjoyed creating silhouettes with black paper and beautiful watercolour backgrounds!

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful last day – enjoy your week off and keep safe!

Year 2’s Spooktastic day!

We had a lovely day learning about all things spooky in year 2 today!

Hope you all have a lovely half term!

Please post their learning onto Seesaw as teachers will be checking journals weekly – they can’t wait to see how you get on!

If you need any help accessing any of the learning, please speak to your child’s class teacher…they are always happy to help!

Welcome back Year 5!

Welcome back Year 5 and a very happy September to you! We hope you have enjoyed your first few days back in school – we certainly have! Thank you to you all for being such lovely company and for adjusting to life in your ‘bubbles’ so well. We are looking forward to a fantastic year!

Goodbye Year 6

Today, we say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils as it is the final day of our bubble system. This year things have been a bit different and we did not get to enjoy a Leavers’ Assembly in which all pupils are able to come together to celebrate their remarkable achievements These occasions are often sad and emotional; however, they are primarily a time for joy and celebration as we reflect on the journey of our pupils while at primary school and to also look forward towards the journey that they are all about to embark upon as they move into their new secondary schools. Although, we have been unable to do this we are still extremely emotional and value the work, effort and joy the children brought to the school during their time with us and we will hold the memories of them close to our hearts.

Our Year 6 group this year have been outstanding; not just in their academic achievements but in how they have handled these difficult circumstances, with resilience, independence, creativity, etc. They are a credit to themselves, their families and our school and I would like to wish each of them every success in the future. We will miss them immensely and still hope we can have an opportunity to get them all together again soon, with your support, to have a ‘goodbye’ and to provide closure for us all.

Thank you for the memories Year 6 – it has been a wonderful journey and we are privileged to be a part of your stories.

Year 2 – Home Learning Tasks 12.7.20

This is the last week of Home Learning and we would just like to say;

We’re so proud we were your teachers.

We’ve watched you learn and grow.

We worked so hard and had such fun.

How fast the time did go!

Our year was interrupted, we have not had our final week of fun.

So enjoy these fabulous activities, that have been sent to you with love.

We would love for you to complete these activities Week 12 and maybe add some of your own. Then write us a letter explaining what you have been doing and maybe even add some pictures too.

As always, we look forward to hearing all about what you have been up to or just for a general chat so please continue to keep in touch on Seesaw.

Annual Reports

What an eventful year it has been so far! The children at Sir Alexander Fleming have, as always, worked very hard this year, both in school and at home! In recognition of this, we have written Annual Reports for all children. Next week, your child’s class teacher will email their report to the email address you have provided us with and it should arrive between 9am Monday (13th) and 12noon Wendesday (15th). If you have not received your report by Wednesday afternoon, please contact your child’s class teacher.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please let us know!
