Our Spring themed Art Day

We all had a wonderful ‘arty’ day on Tuesday. The children were able to practise lots of skills, such as printing, watercolour painting, 3D clay or mod roc models, collage, oil pastel drawings and sketching.

Here are some of the super examples from Reception, Year 1 and Year 5:

Year 5 – EXPLORE UNIVERSITY PROJECT

Today, we have been busy learning about university life. The “Explore University” project is organised by Keele University, Staffordshire University, University of Wolverhampton and Harper Adams University and aims to help primary school children understand more about university. The children were challenged to recreate many aspects of a university using lego. Year 5 showed great resilience, teamwork and imagination throughout the morning. Well done!

Parent Survey – Have your say!

Hello everyone,

As a school, we are always looking at how we can improve and offer the best education and experiences for our children as well as the support we offer parents . We would appreciate it very much if you would take the time to complete the Parent Survey through the link here.

We are looking for honest opinions and for you as parents to tell us what you like, what you think it is amazing and what needs a bit of work.

Any parent that completes the form will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 Aldi voucher, you just need to inform the Admin team that you have completed it.

The link for the survey is here, you just need to click on it:

Art and Craft Club

Art and Craft Club

At patchwork club this term, we are so incredibly proud of the finished projects. Take a look at our beautiful patchwork and cross stitched cushions! We will have available spaces to join our renamed ‘Arts and Crafts Club’ for Year 5 and Year 6,  when clubs are back up and running after February half term, look out for the clubs letter.

One parent said, ‘Wow, this is amazing! Have you made this? All of it? How?’.

Fantastic skills learnt and applied by the children to make such professional looking cushions – a well done to all involved.

Look out for the letters in February and sign up!

Christmas Dinner Day

Our Christmas Dinner day is on Thursday 9th December 2021.

This year, we are offering a free Christmas Dinner to all children.

Jacket potatoes are not available on this day so if your child does not want a Christmas Dinner then a home packed lunch will need to be provided.

Children in Need – Friday 19th November

Children In Need – Friday 19th November

We are asking that our whole school supports Children In Need on Friday 19th November. On this day, children are asked to come to school in their Pudsey outfits, something spotty or striped, or simply in their own clothes if they would prefer.

We will be asking all children to donate £1 to this very worthy cause.

No Pens Day – Year 5!

We have had a lovely day in Year 5 making the most of the opportunities to work without pens!

We completed French activities based around describing feelings, listened and responded to music, made (rather fiddly) Christmas decorations for our school tree and completed a drama lesson this afternoon!

Our communication skills were used all day and the performances of the Wormy Spaghetti scene from The Twits this afternoon required lots of imagination and focus!

Keep your eye on your class’ Seesaw page for photos and videos.

Art in Year 5

The teaching of art and design at our school instils an appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts. Year 5 children have certainly enjoyed their curriculum this term – exploring a range of mediums to help them communicate what they see through the elements of colour, texture, tone and pattern. Here are some examples…

A fun-filled last day of half-term in Year 5!

We had a fabulous day reading and following a recipe to create snot-tails (which were actually delicious)! We also listened to a mysterious story called The Hook!

The children also enjoyed creating silhouettes with black paper and beautiful watercolour backgrounds!

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful last day – enjoy your week off and keep safe!
