History

At Sir Alexander Fleming Nursery and Primary School, we recognise the importance of History in inspiring pupils’ curiosity about the past and developing their understanding of how events, people and societies have shaped Britain and the wider world. Through engaging and meaningful learning experiences, pupils develop historical enquiry skills, using a range of evidence and sources to ask questions, make interpretations and draw conclusions about life in the past. By exploring history, children gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and how the past continues to influence the present.
