Tuesday’s Challenges

ENGLISH – We are loving this version of Jack and the Beanstalk! Watch episodes 11, 12 and 13.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks1-jack-and-the-beanstalk-pt13/z77ykmn

What does Jack steal? Have a discussion about whether it is right or wrong to steal? What are the arguments for and against?

Pretend you are in Jack’s shoes! Think about the reasons Jack is stealing the items from the giant.

Write a letter from Jack to the giant, explaining why you stole the items. Will you apologise for taking the hen and harp?

You could even make a scroll by tea staining some paper!

MATHS –

Play your board game again (if you have one or made one) –use the computer version again.

https://www.primarygames.co.uk/pg2/splat/splatsq100.htm

Then look at the 100 square board and splat given numbers on the 100 square.

Can you splat numbers by skipping one number each time? Eg. 2 4 6 8 10 12….look at the pattern that is made and talk about it with your child.

Be Active: And some more yoga (or mix it up with Jo Wicks)

Nursery Challenge – Monday 27th April

Hello everyone,

Hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for some more challenges this week!

As always, I look forward to seeing your completed challenges and all of the lovely things you have been up to on Seesaw.

Miss Dornan

Calling all children in Mrs Atkins’ groups – we need your help!

Would all the children who attend Mrs Atkins groups, whilst they are at home, please help to create a new display for when we are back at school?

Could you please draw and cut out of cardboard a butterfly and paint or colour it in any way that you choose?

When we are back at school bring them in so they can be attached to a mobile that will be displayed outside the TLC.

You can make as many as you want – and they can be as big or small as you want!

Here are some my children and I have created. We used lollipop sticks down the middle of our wings but cardboard or a stick will work just as well.

You could even make your own for home. To make the mobile simply sellotape some string to the back of your butterfly (you may need to wrap it around the middle a few times and make a triangle shape on the back so they stay upright) and hang it onto a large stick.

Have fun and stay safe,

Mrs Atkins

YEAR 4 ACTIVITIES

Good morning, we hope you and your families are all keeping well.  It was lovely to see so many of the children engaged in last week’s activities, thank you for sharing your work.

Please do not feel that you must complete all the activities, work at your own pace and try to choose activities that engage your child.

Year 4 – Home Learning Activities – WB 27.04.20

Warm wishes,

Mrs Lane and Mr Warren

Monday’s challenges…

Hello!

Hope everyone’s had a good weekend.

We thought we’d post some work ideas for tomorrow and apologise now if we don’t respond very quickly to any seesaw messages you may send – we’re actually in school tomorrow, looking after the children of our key workers.

As always, we’ll put ideas for phonics and maths, but we equally love seeing photos/videos of the different things you’re doing to keep busy in these uncertain times.

Please look at the Seesaw account for tomorrow’s daily story – Mrs Casswell’s class have ‘Duck in the Truck’ – read by Mrs Wust 🙂

Stay safe everyone,

Mrs Casswell & Mrs Geran xx

Monday Practical ways to find halve

phonics ph 3 mon 27th apr

Welcome to a new week – something to motivate you on Monday!

Welcome to another week…

Miss Reese and Miss Hullin are aware home learning is probably very strange for you all…if you have a go at any of these activities and find any of them useful, that’s all we are hoping for!

Please don’t think you have to use and complete all of them, everyday.

You are the ones with your children and we know you will to be guided by how they are doing and what you think they need to do next…

Have fun and take plenty of breaks… we’ve added more yoga if that has been helpful for relaxation.

For an activity on Friday it would be useful if you had saved up some recycling – plastic bottles, tin can, toilet rolls – any of these would come in handy – just use whatever you have…

Activities for anytime…

Please remember to read books daily

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000fbs4/cbeebies-bedtime-stories-740-joe-wicks-love-monster-and-the-perfect-present

Look at tricky words – remember the youtube songs from before easter -if they help.

There are lots of games and resources on www.letters-and-sounds.com

Please look at phase 2, 3 and 5 digraphs on a daily basis.

Read Write Inc., Complex Speed Sounds A4 Chart | Teaching Resources

Please keep looking at the sounds that groups of letters make – if your child needs to. Please use this video again if it helps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sNxyckQJK8

Can your child say the sound that represents each letter?

When you say a sound can they write each of the letters that represent that sound?

This week’s spellings are

  • put
  • could
  • house
  • old
  • by
  • come
  • don’t
  • look
  • very
  • there
